The purpose of this website is to provide free sermon manuscripts and sermon videos to pastors and missionaries throughout the world, especially the Third World, where there are few if any theological seminaries or Bible schools.

These sermon manuscripts and videos now go out to about 1,500,000 computers in over 221 countries every year at www.sermonsfortheworld.com. Hundreds of others watch the videos on YouTube, but they soon leave YouTube and come to our website. YouTube feeds people to our website. The sermon manuscripts are given in 46 languages to about 120,000 computers each month. The sermon manuscripts are not copyrighted, so preachers can use them without our permission. Please click here to learn how you can make a monthly donation to help us in this great work of preaching the Gospel to the whole world.

Whenever you write to Dr. Hymers always tell him what country you live in, or he cannot answer you. Dr. Hymers’ e-mail is rlhymersjr@sbcglobal.net.

ANDREW’S EXPERIENCE WITH JESUS

by Dr. R. L. Hymers, Jr.

A sermon preached at the Baptist Tabernacle of Los Angeles
Wednesday Evening, August 21, 2019

“Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples; And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God! And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus. Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou? He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour. One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother” (John 1:35-40; p. 1116 Scofield).

1.  Andrew heard the Gospel, John 1:35-36.

2.  Andrew was confronted by Jesus, John 1:38.

3.  Andrew’s initial response, John 1:39.

4.  Andrew’s first concern, John 1:40-41.

5.  Andrew’s testimony, John 1:41.

6.  Andrew’s first convert, John 1:42.

The same steps are taken by each real convert:

1.  He must hear the Gospel.

2.  He must seek Jesus.

3.  He must come to Jesus.

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”
       (Matthew 11:28; p. 1011).

“He that winneth souls is wise” (Proverbs 11:30; p. 680).

“Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you”
   (Matthew 7:6, p. 1003; see John 2:24, 25, p. 1117).
