The purpose of this website is to provide free sermon manuscripts and sermon videos to pastors and missionaries throughout the world, especially the Third World, where there are few if any theological seminaries or Bible schools.

These sermon manuscripts and videos now go out to about 1,500,000 computers in over 221 countries every year at www.sermonsfortheworld.com. Hundreds of others watch the videos on YouTube, but they soon leave YouTube and come to our website. YouTube feeds people to our website. The sermon manuscripts are given in 46 languages to about 120,000 computers each month. The sermon manuscripts are not copyrighted, so preachers can use them without our permission. Please click here to learn how you can make a monthly donation to help us in this great work of preaching the Gospel to the whole world.

Whenever you write to Dr. Hymers always tell him what country you live in, or he cannot answer you. Dr. Hymers’ e-mail is rlhymersjr@sbcglobal.net.

THE RIGHT WORDS WILL NOT SAVE YOU

by Dr. R. L. Hymers, Jr.

A sermon preached at the Fundamentalist Baptist Tabernacle of Los Angeles
Saturday Evening, July 14, 2001

"Ye have wearied the Lord with your words" (Malachi 2:17).

A man wrote and told me that I am lost because I didn't put the word "repent" in my book, The Church That Will Be Left Behind. Yet I gave the clearest explanation of repentance he will ever read on pages 52 and 53, and on pages 79 through 85.  That whole book is about repentance, though I did not use the word itself.  Many people think if they say the right word they are saved. This is a great delusion from Satan.

I. In this life, you give good words and fair speeches to deceive the pastor and others, Romans 16:18.

"By good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple"

1. You say that you are giving up lost friends, but you don't.

You can deceive the simple but not God!

2. You say you're a sinner and are under conviction, but I say you only want to be accepted by the church.

You can deceive the simple but not God!

II. But after you die you will be speechless, Matthew 22:12.

(Why did you come here without being justified?)

"And he was speechless"

"Take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth" (Matthew 22:13).

Start talking about reality!

– Out with sinful friends!

– Put your mind on your sinful heart!

– Put your mind on Jesus Christ!
