RABBINICAL COURT EXCOMMUNICATES
SENATOR JOSEPH LIEBERMAN

"Thou shalt not kill" (Exodus 20:13).

Human Events, the national conservative weekly paper, gave this report on Democratic Vice Presidential candidate Joseph Lieberman:

Yes, Senator Lieberman has been excommunicated by the Jewish rabbinical court of Brooklyn, New York! Imagine what would have happened if Reform Party Vice Presidential candidate Ezola Foster or Republican Vice Presidential candidate Dick Cheney were excommunicated from their churches! The media moguls would have it splashed all over the front page of every newspaper in America, and it would be the "top story" on TV news every night for a week! But you and I know that there’s a double standard. Bill Clinton can lie under oath and give top military secrets to Red China and the media protects him. But they crucified Richard M. Nixon (almost literally) for nothing more than trying to protect some men that worked under him. Imagine what the media would have done to President Reagan if he had lied under oath, as Bill Clinton did! They’d have skinned him alive and nailed his hide to the barn door! And they’d have made sure his wife didn’t get to run for the Senate a few months after he perjured himself in court!

Don't get me wrong. I am not endorsing any candidate or political party in this election in any of my sermons - because I don't believe that any politician can help America. We have gone too far as a nation for any mere politician to help us. The Republican party has been a total washout on the moral issues, and I don't trust them. As much as I dislike Ted Kennedy, he is no worse than these wishy-washy Republicans. Hypocrisy is evil in anyone, Democrat or Republican.

Rick Lazio probably wouldn't be any better than Mrs. Clinton, and George W. Bush wouldn't help us any more than Al Gore. I'm not endorsing any of them. Personally, as a protest, I'm voting for Democrat Dianne Feinstein, because her Republican opponent, Tom Campbell, is in favor of partial birth abortions. At least Mrs. Feinstein has experience.

And I don't agree completely with any of the third party candidates either. Ralph Nader is wrong on abortion, and Patrick J. Buchanan is wrong on Israel. So, I don't see any politician who can help us very much in these evil days, and I'm not endorsing anybody in this election in any of my sermons. Only God can help us now.

But, having said that, we can learn several things from this Human Events news story about Senator Lieberman’s excommunication by that Jewish rabbinical court.

I. The liberal media "blacked out" the entire story!

Yes, you heard me right, the liberal newspaper and TV news people "blacked it out," which is their way of saying they won't report it. They didn't say even one word about this on TV or in the papers!

Why? Why did they decide not to tell about Lieberman's excommunication? Well, isn't the answer rather obvious? They didn't want to hurt his running mate, Al Gore! My mother used to say, "Birds of a feather flock together." Liberals stick together! That's why Associated Press blasted George W. Bush on the front page of papers across the country for drunk driving 24 years ago, but said nothing about Lieberman's excommunication. They would hoot and holler and destroy a Nixon or a Reagan for the slightest infraction - but a liberal can quite literally "get away with murder."

I can't prove that Ted Kennedy killed Mary Jo Kopechne at Chappaquiddick. But I know this: if Richard Nixon had walked away to sleep it off in a hotel and left that girl to drown he would have gone to prison - and so would you! I can't prove that Bill Clinton killed Vince Foster. But I know this: if one of Nixon's aides had died under such weird and suspicious circumstances, he would have undergone a criminal investigation - and so would you!

That's the double-standard of the media. Crucify Nixon for almost nothing, but protect Clinton when he gives military secrets to a Communist nation. Try every way you can to destroy Reagan (Irangate, etc.), but protect murderers, whoremongers, traitors and abortionists if they're liberals!

That, my friend, is why you didn't hear about Joseph Lieberman's excommunication until I read it to you out of Human Events, a highly conservative paper. The liberal national media "blacked out" the story - to use their words. And that's the way it will be under the Antichrist:

You see, that's one of the ways God punishes a nation. He allows them to be deceived. He sends them strong delusions so they will believe lies. That's exactly what God did to Nazi Germany. God took away the good judgment of the German people so they would believe the lies of Joseph Goebbels, Hitler's minister of propaganda. Goebbels controlled the German media and only let what he wanted the people to know be reported. Hitler's propaganda henchman "blacked out" the news he didn't want the people to hear. God sent strong delusion to the German people so they would believe Goebbels' lies.

Today God is sending this same judgment to America. God has taken away the good sense of many people so they believe the twisted spins, the propaganda "news" put out by Peter Jennings, Dan Rather, Ted Turner, Tom Brokaw, Associated Press, etc. "God (has sent) them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie" (II Thessalonians 2:11).

II. The Senator's "new" views on abortion are against both the Old and New Testaments.

It should be remembered that Lieberman's views on abortion are "new." Just a couple of years ago he campaigned for the Senate as pro-life. But when Mr. Gore picked him as his running mate, somehow his beliefs suddenly changed! What if Nixon had changed his views on something that major two or three months before the election, like Lieberman did? They would have screamed, "Hypocrite! Hypocrite! Hypocrite!" at Nixon. But somehow Lieberman gets away with it.

But he doesn't get away with it in front of God, because both the Old and New Testaments are quite clearly against abortion - the murder of innocent pre-born babies.

In Exodus 21:22-25 we read:

Dr. Charles Ryrie, the evangelical commentator, says, "Her fruit comes out (alive, not dead). In this case a fine was levied. If the baby died, then the law of retaliation applied" (Ryrie Study Bible, note on Exodus 21:22). That is probably the clearest passage in the Bible showing us what God thinks of abortion! Passages like this one and Exodus 20:13 from the Torah (the Old Testament) were what those rabbis in New York based Mr. Lieberman's excommunication - and I agree with them.  The passage of scripture in Exodus 21:22-25 echoes what God said in the Noahic Covenant:

Abraham Lincoln (Second Inaugural Address) believed this applied to the Civil War - that God was requiring blood-for-blood because of the cruelty man had shown toward the slaves. I think Lincoln was right. And I think God will require the blood of this generation for not stopping the slaughter of thirty-six million innocent children.  Don't get me wrong.  I'm not advocating violence of any kind.  No real Christian will act violently against another human being, no matter how much he may disagree with him.  The pro-abortionists are wrong, but we must leave them in the hands of God and let Him judge them.

Listen to the reasons God gave for scattering the Jews out of their land:

God said they were scattered throughout the world for shedding innocent blood and vexing the fatherless.

Now look at what God says in the New Testament. Turn to Luke, chapter sixteen. Notice in verses twenty-two through twenty-six there is a description of a man burning in the flames of Hell.

Now look at chapter seventeen, verse one. This comes directly after the account of a man burning in Hell. Read verse one, of chapter seventeen:

"Then" - the very next thing, after He told about the man in Hell,

It would be better to have a large rock chained around your neck and be drowned in the ocean, than to go to Hell and burn eternally because you offended "one of these little ones." The hottest place in Hell, the worst place of punishment, will be reserved for those who harm children. Abortionists, and those who support them, have no hope of escaping the flames…unless they are converted and forgiven by Christ.

III. The nation is under God's judgment.

The equivalent of all the people in thirty-one of the largest cities in America have been destroyed by the abortionist's knife (see "The Self-Extermination of the American People," sermon given September 24, 2000). More children have been shredded by the abortionists than were killed in all the wars America has ever fought - combined!

The Nazis had judgment at Nuremberg. We will also have a day of judgment - soon!

One way America is being judged is by illegal immigrants pouring across our borders from Mexico and Central America. Why didn't they come in the 1930's or the 1940's or 50's or even the 60's or 70's? Because there weren't any jobs for them then.

Now we have killed thirty-six million of our own American children and the Hispanics flow in to take the jobs they would have filled. Abortion has caused a giant "job vacuum," sucking millions into our country - to take over our nation from filthy, greedy, self-centered White and Black Americans who wanted lots of sex with no babies. Now our culture is being plowed under by a superior people - the Hispanics. They are superior to us in at least one important way: they do not tend to kill their children. We do not think of them as superior - but it seems to me that God does. Abraham Lincoln said, "The Lord must love poor people. He made so many of them."

Our nation now has the wrath of God hanging over it. God tells us forty-three times in the Bible that He will punish a nation that harms fatherless children. America has rejected those forty-three warnings, and God is about to reject us and judge us. And don't for one minute think that having George W. Bush as president will help us at all. It won't. The judgment of God is about to sweep away America as we know it. Leonard Ravenhill correctly said, "America's greatest enemy is GOD."

I was swimming at my gym a few days ago. While in the jacuzzi, I talked with an old man who taught philosophy in a nearby college for many years. Although I think he is an atheist, he was lamenting the decline of our civilization, comparing it to the fall of the Roman Empire. I said, "Our civilization is dying." He didn't say a word. The old philosophy teacher just nodded his head in silent agreement.

Young person, what does this mean to you? It means that our whole way of life is about to be swept away in the wrath and anger of God's holy judgment. It means that you probably don't have much of a future. But you already knew that, didn't you?

It also means that it's time for you to stop playing around with God, my young friend. It's time for you to get very serious with God. You must have your sins forgiven or you will not be prepared for death and for eternity to come. You must get into this church every time the door is open. You must also come to Christ and get saved.

O friend, there is so little time before judgment falls! O friend, there is so little time before you fall into Hell! O friend, Jesus Christ died for you on the Cross, to pay for your sins. He rose from the dead and sits at God's right hand in the heavenlies. O friend, turn to Christ - be forgiven of your sins - before it is too late.
